MRS. YODER'S FULL-DAY PRESCHOOL CLASS : LANGUAGE ARTS:
We begin our sounds with the letter M.
We danced with Mrs. M.
We worked on addition. We are beginning our numbers. .
We learned about families and helping. We created class graphs to find out how many people are in our families and how we help. We also learned about occupations. We created our own class book of what we want to be when we grow up.
We know that God loves us and we are part of God's family. We learned that God made our family and He wants us to be good listeners and help our families.
MISS FALLON'S A.M. PRESCHOOL CLASS - READING/PHONICS/WRITING:
This week your child met Mr. M. They identified M words and sight words found within his munching song.
They learned the five senses and created a list of things we see, touch, taste, hear, smell and feel.
They also learned how to stay healthy. They learned that keeping clean will help eliminate germs and help us not to get sick.
MRS. FINN'S - FULL-DAY KINDERGARTEN
Our memory words include: the, I, play, we, can, us, go, you, see, what, there, she, said, am, look, of, at, has, have, for, were, after, wo, are, and saw. Please help your child learn these words which are found in their small index card books. We have a ghost that says oo, and a band aid that says ou. The children love to hit the easy button in the classroom when we are writing. They get to hit the easy button when they remember one of the " usually" rules. One of the" usually" rules is when we hear an " r" on the end of a word it is usually an er.
The class counts by tens and fives during morning circle. We can make and solve addition and subtraction problems by using the number line. The class loves to do surveys and count using tally marks. We will spend a good deal of time this year learning about time. The students should know that the big hand is the minute hand and what the time on the hour looks like.
